Fernando do Campo is an artist, writer and curator. do Campo lives and works in Launceston where he is currently Director of Sawtooth ARI, and teaches Art Theory at the University of Tasmania. His artistic practice engages with the re-emergence of abstraction within studio painting and often explores the dialectic between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal painting practises. He has been involved in numerous exhibitions around Australia. Recent curatorial projects include The Oyster’s Locale, Junction Arts Festival (JAF) 2010. Solo shows include MySpace/PaintSpace, M16 Artspace, Canberra 2009, Mind The Gap, Inflight ARI, Hobart 2010 and Love it or Lose it (with Emma Beer) Rearview Gallery, Melbourne 2010.
